I have an aunt who migrated to Siocon, Zamboanga in Mindanao and she raised her family there. I've always been envious of my cousins who spoke Visaya. I loved hearing them speak, they sounded so affectionate (malambing).

One of my poems "The Family Tree" relates my father's experience in the early 1920's "...the teachers would fine us a centavo each time were used an Ilocano word...."
